Originally from Vancouver B.C. and signed by Chad Kroeger of Nickelback to his 604 Records label (where the band is still signed in Canada), Theory is following up a very successful sophomore album cycle (GASOLINE) that included the huge radio hits “Santa Monica,” “No Surprise” and “Hello Lonely.” Theory are road dogs and expect to be on the road for 2 years straight to support their new album SCARS & SOUVENIRS. The balanced 13-track effort is the polished and passionate testament to seven years of hard work, heavy touring and diligent attention to its craft. From the swirling grinds of the first single “So Happy” to the soaring melodicism of “Not Meant to Be” and “By The Way,” Scars & Souvenirs is a broad-reaching endeavor that puts singer/guitarist Tyler Connolly, guitarist Dave Brenner and bassist Dean Back high in the rock pantheon, achieving creative growth without sacrificing the hard-hitting power that got them here in the first place.

“It’s the Scars & Souvenirs of your life,” Connolly explains. “The songwriting on the record is really about someone’s past or and present, their relationships and how they shape everything. It’s more metaphorical than physical scars and trophies.We’re just a hard-working band, man. We want to be out there for a couple of years and play these songs to everybody we possibly can.” Tyler also contributed guitar and appeared in the video for Chad Kroeger’s #1 smash hit “Hero,” the theme song to the massive Spider-Man movie.

What are FLAC Formatted Files?

FLAC files are lossless digital audio files, which means they retain all of the quality of the original CD, or other source. Normally the benchmark for a “cd quality” rip is 320 kbps, but with a FLAC encoded song the quality can range anywhere from 800 to 1800 kbps. The quality is basically a mirror image of the original source. File downloads will usually contain the music in one of two formats: either as an image file along with the FLAC file, or with each song seperated individually like you’ll normally see.

If the file contains an image and a FLAC file, simply double click the image file and Nero will launch. Make sure you choose to not have any pause between songs, click “burn”, and the burning process begins.

If the file contains individual songs, then you would simply need to drag the music into Nero and complete the burning process as usual.

I prefer to do the majority of my media burning using Nero. Depending on which version of Nero you use, you might have to install a codec plugin pack in order to use Nero to burn FLAC files. You’ll know wether or not you need the plugin simply by dragging a FLAC song into Nero. If it allows you to do so, then you’re all set. if it says it doesn’t support the format, then you’ll need the plugin pack which you can download below. Don’t change any of the install directories .. it will install right into Nero. Launch Nero after the install and you should be able to add the FLAC media into Nero and continue the burn process as usual.
