Along the way, there are parodies of Man Called Hero, The Matrix, Bruce Lee, and just about every other HK gambling movie ever made.Chow cruises through this movie and hits all his marks, but it’s not enough to save this overdone, totally obnoxious piece of commercial fluff. Nick Cheung needs to tone it down, and Wong Jing should stay away from both sides of the camera. Even the ace cast (Sandra Ng, Suki Kwan, Tats Lau) can’t save this turkey.

Sandra, as Ti, is fairly unglamorous in her role, but thats the point, she is not a city girl. As usual, she gives her best and is more endearing than Stephen’s character.

By all reasoning, this should be complete crap, but Look Out, Officer! ends up being hilarious, charming, and above all entertaining in large part due to the performance of a young Stephen Chow.

Synopsis: Generally funny but overall not-so-spectacular comedy featuring Mr. Comedy himself, Stephen Chow. Chow is a wacky but lovable mainlander duking it out with wacky bad guy Yuen Wah. Meanwhile, he learns kung-fu from the legendary Josephine Siao, and assorted hijinks involving Cheung Man and Nat Cheung Bak-Cheung go on forever. Like I said, this flick is generally funny but overall this is a non-essential Stephen Chow movie. It’s nice to see Chow work with one of the premier HK Cinema stars in Josephine Siao, but even that doesn’t make this an automatic recommended film. At the very least, Chow’s character is much more pleasant and likable than some of his later works, like Sixty Million Dollar Man.

Stephen is saved by scientist Tsui, who rebuilds him as a shape shifting superhero, except he can only turn into household products.
